The Sant Esteve Church dates back to the 12th century and is located at the entrance of the Old town of Andorra la Vella. The original construction dates back to the Romanesque period and has been modified several times.
Among its highlights you have the west front, a work by the Catalan architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch. On top of that, an original polychrome beam is preserved that crosses the apse of the church from side to side and that, according to historians, was to support a baldachin currently missing. The interior also preserves several Baroque altarpieces and an 18th-century painting called Picture of the Souls.
During the summer months, there is the possibility of taking guided tours where you can learn more about the history of this heritage church.

Location: The Sant Esteve Church is located nearby the Andorra la Vella administration, in front of the Town Square. It can be accessed through the upper part of Meritxell Avenue or from Prat de la Creu Street, taking the elevator that goes up to the Town Square.
