With more than 60 years of experience in the sector, El Cantàbric is one of the Principality's benchmark restaurants and fishmongers.
It was one of the first companies in Andorra with a network of fishmongers throughout the country, but currently concentrates its efforts on one of its most iconic premises, the one in Sant Julià de Lòria.
The location we know today was not the first, but it is the best known and where they have been delighting their diners and satisfying the needs of all their customers for 18 years.
The main activity of the business is the sale of fish and seafood in which they are characterized by a very careful selection of the products they offer. The latter come from a multitude of localities to always guarantee the best possible quality.
Despite its age in the principality, they still offer today an innovative and very particular service.
Indeed, the restaurant opened its doors in 2005 and since then has distinguished itself by offering its guests the possibility to choose the product they are going to eat directly in the fishmonger's shop.
The diner begins by choosing what he wants to eat from the selection of products in the fishmonger's shop, which offers total transparency as to the origin of what he is going to eat and makes the service completely customizable. Once the selection has been made, the diner can see how his dish is prepared in the open concept kitchen. All the preparations are completely customizable since each customer can choose the product, the exact quantity he wants and how he wants the product to be prepared.
Therefore, each customer can compose their own menu, although they also have a fixed menu for the more indecisive diners.
One of its star dishes is the Mariscada del Cantàbric. It is a selection of products that includes seafood and a bottle of wine for two people.
If customers are unable to eat on the premises, a take-out service is also available so that customers can enjoy their preparations on the go. They simply have to call and a photo of the menu can be provided or they can choose from the fish market products that are available that day. And this service follows the same values as the local service, therefore, the product is always fresh and is prepared so that at the agreed time the customer can pick it up freshly cooked. Even though they do not only prepare fish and seafood, they also offer dishes such as rice to please all types of customers.
They also have a home delivery service for fish products in the afternoon, but at the moment they cannot offer home delivery of the restaurant's products.
The restaurant service is only available at noon, although on special dates such as the festa major they do open their doors occasionally.
They also have a service of celebrations in which they open the establishment for a group of between 8 to 20 people. On these occasions, diners can enjoy the entire restaurant to themselves, making it perfect for company dinners, birthdays or other types of celebrations. A menu is agreed according to the budget of the group and they have the entire restaurant to themselves, so you can organize the layout according to the needs of the event.
